Whale-love animation “man & whale” by Koji Yamamura

Whale-love animationWhat a beautiful story by Koji Yamamura, a Japanese animated film maker, who’s variety of animation techniques and films show in countless festivals and individual exhibitions worldwide. Mr. Yamamura is also a nominee for the 75th Academy Awards Short Films’ Animation Category.

Mr. Yamamura has created a new short animation film tittled “Man & Whale” for Greenpeace Whale-Love campaign. It took about 5 months to produce the film but it was well worth it. When I watched “Man & Whale” I couldn’t help but feeling in awe of these wonderful creatures and how it is our turn to save the whales. I think it’s beautiful how a short film can make such an impact on issues as these, so spread the word people! As Koji Yamamura says about saving the whales: “It’s a tough job. I think each of us should not be too emotional about the issue and should take actions from our pure motive to protect the animal.”

“What I wanted to achieve with this film was to get children, who are our future, interested in whales, protection of whales and other environmental issues” “…What I wanted to express is that your thoughts, feelings, ideas, what you have in mind will be gotten through and handed down over generations. Even when you get older, what you thought and felt in your childhood still remain inside of you and will pass on to your children, in some way. That’s what I wanted to say.” - truly inspiring.
