Modern Japanese architecture by Hiroshi Nakamura

With a total floor area of 684.86sqm, this unique house design is located on a rare wooded plot in Tokyo, Japan. It’s name “Dancing trees,Singing birds” fits like a glove, however this wood and steel structure is not your typical Japanese house.

Designed by Japanese architecture firm, Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP co., this house is a six-unit apartment building which has been fitted around tree trunks and branches, immersing its residents in the forest in order to raise their awareness of environmental issues.

Each of the 6 apartments are of different sizes, offering a kitchen/dining room, living room, bedroom and leisure space.

This house is amazing! The interior of the apartments is stylish with a touch of Japanese minimalism, where from every corner you are peacefully surrounded by wooded nature.

I also liked the designer’s idea of placing small wooden birdhouses throughout this structure to encourage the birds to remain on the site.
