I would just want a larger kitchen, and although this home looks wonderful just the way it is, I would rather have the same floor throughout if it were mine, to maintain a more open floor plan, and more room for changing and rearranging. I would be on the floor with a heap of sewing or other project stuff beside me and on my lap while chit chatting with the person cooking in the kitchen, eating at the table, or hanging out doing their own project or practicing their instrument or playing on their computer..
