Trust Bulthaup to radically rethink the kitchen and cooking, and come up with the concept of dividing it into three main areas: work, storage and appliances.
Based on their vast experience and research, Bulthuap has redefined the kitchen to suit the lifestyle and needs of the modern household. Taking into account that modern homes are usually constrained for space, that a family can mean one or two adults with or without any number of children and that the needs of a household changes over time, the most important feature required of a kitchen is flexibility and adaptability.
The classic layout of continuous countertops, a wet area, a cooking area and storage (the known triangle of sink-cooker-refrigerator) had to be rethought. The goal was to come up with a system that would make it easy to incorporate spacial changes, adding and replacing new appliances and adapting to personal habits.
The design was developed in collaboration with the renowned design firm EOOS in Vienna and the result was a mudular concept based around three main elements:
The workbench – a unit that houses fire and water points.
The tool & storage cabinet – a multi-door area for all your crockery, utensils, pantry and storage.
The appliance cabinet – for all your appliances (oven, dishwasher, refrigerator)
As with all Bulthaup products the design and craftsmanship are meticulous. When in use, the cabinets open up for efficient easy access and when entertaining the closed cabinet doors leave the space looking clean and sleek.
Though they offer only a few basic types of units, they are smartly minimalist and offer a limitless range of design variations. Using materials of the highest quality and finish, such as oak and walnut veneer combined with worktops made from stainless steel, oak, walnut and gray sandstone, the Bulthaup trademark value is evident in this showcase kitchen.
