Complex House: Quite perplexing

When I saw the Complex House I thought to myself: leave it to the Japanese to come up with such an unusual piece of architecture like this one. The unique exterior does not imply which side is the facade or the back, and as the name suggests, the design of this house is quite complex.

The composition of this small family home is mixed with unusual openings, an inner courtyard, and a perplexing slanted roof. Every opening has a different angle, creating various spaces which are simply perfect for a bit of ‘hide & seek’.

The house is located in a residential area in Nagoya, Japan. It features a total space of 100 sq. meters, where each small room is opened to the south side to catch the sun and bring in natural light and ventilation.
