Tama Hotel Phnom Penh Tower

In the bustling capital and largest city in Cambodia, the fortunate will find this boutique hotel that provides respite and comfort in unexpected ways. With just 26 rooms, a restaurant, coffee shop, and smoking area, it delivers big personality.

Public spaces are an immediately welcoming blend of industrial, antique, sophisticated country, and modern with ample texture to soothe a weary traveler. Rough-hewn stone floors engage with tile and carpets where privacy is required. The monochromatic palette of white, grey, and black is punctuated by soothing tones of wood from blonde to ebony.

Leather Chesterfield sofas pair with modern tufted lounges so deep you could nap there. Plaid arm chairs and pillows mingle with Ikat prints, antique model ships, industrial lighting, and restaurant banquettes divided by black steel, glass, and wood.

Individual rooms do not disappoint and follow the public spaces’ lead in a much lighter way. The palette continues in tone and materials. Wood floors and steel framed, often marble topped, furnishings are minimal in style and always useful. A real delight is the timber loft sleeping space in one room that builds itself up to window height.

Each guest room is surprisingly light and airy; due to the less is more philosophy. Steel framed glass partitions invite day light in to interior areas. In addition, clearly great attention was given to creating levels of lighting that make rooms sparkle and accentuate the details and individual comfort.
