This is a seriously fabulous chair with a very long list of credentials. Let’s start with the style and design, by Benjamin Hubert. The Pod’s height creates a cozy private space for working or reading. It wraps above and around your head making an acoustically and physically intimate environment in its small foot print.
The shell, formed of thick felt made from recycled PET plastic, absorbs noise. Formed in to the chair is a snug seat and arm rests. Recycled foam cushions your back and bottom. Tones of soothing dove grey and warm charcoal grey on the shell contrast with bright tones of Kvadrat fabric.
A frame of steamed and bent ash wood is completely knock-down, allowing for easy shipping, assembly, and recycling, if you can ever imagine doing so. Pod eliminates the waste of typical upholstered furniture and their impossible-to-recycle glued construction, foam, and fabrics. The largest form yet to use molded PET felt technology, Pod’s shells stack together further reducing the chair’s carbon foot print in transport. Pod is truly smart, feel good with a clear conscience design.
