Studio LI is a tiny one bedroom 70-year-old relic located in the oldest part of Paris. Once a 17th century mansion and former hotel, this living space oozes charm, personality, and just a hint of mystery. Local Parisian bistros inspired the apartment floor, and many might very well even consider it the focal point of the entire space, with its splendid colors and patterns and brilliance (oh my!).
The compact bedroom is raised from the main living area, giving it its own platform on which to slumber. While the multi-purpose furniture throughout this charmer ensures that Studio LI makes room for ample living, and divides up the home beautifully with closet furniture that doubles as a partition – made entirely of birch plywood.
One would think turning a stable into a studio is just another day in the office for Anne Rolland’s Studio, who took this project on in 2015 to create this impeccably cozy one room flat.
Yet perhaps the most intriguing gem of Studio LI, is the “slurry pit” you can descend down into, offering an additional 10 sq. m. of space underneath a glass trap door, giving the kitchen both light …and depth.
Truly a restored work of art, and surely a pleasure to call home for anyone who dwells there!
