When you’re decorating a room, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to fill it with too many pieces of furniture to get the complete look. Sometimes, one piece can achieve the same effect. The Callum Chairside End Table is exactly that – A gorgeous end table designed to fit in any home decor.

Talking to my friends, it seems that one of the issues we all have to deal with is how to best utilize our living and office spaces. Or, to put it bluntly, we all seem to have more stuff than space to put it. As I am always on the lookout for sophisticated, space saving solutions, the “Grand Central” folding table straight away caught my eye.

When graphic designer, Melissa Jun, bought her one-bedroom apartment in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of New York, she knew she was facing a very small kitchen space. It was cramped and unpleasant, with dreary off-white cabinets, peach-colored tiles, no counter space and unfitting appliances.

Then she met Stefanie Brechbuehler and Robert Andrew Highsmith from Workstead, and with a small budget of $17,000 they created a comfortable and functional new kitchen space.

A very small apartment in Paris needed to include a bedroom, bathroom, dressing and working space. The challenge was a total space of 23 sq. meters. French designer and architect Paul Coudamy designed a mobile system in the form of a U-shaped bookcase (in a gorgeous red color), which actually shapes the entire room. Simply move it to uncover the bed, the dressing or the working space – What a great concept for small compact living spaces.
