It’s true, I have a soft spot for the New England style. And as an avid gardener and outdoorsy person that I am, a wooden garden shed with a traditional style is without a doubt my cup of tea.
These beautiful pool and garden sheds are designed as a scaled-down version of the Carriage House – an outbuilding which was originally built to house horse-drawn carriages as well as various equipment and accessories worn by horses. Nowadays, horse-drawn carriages are much less common, and as a result these outbuildings are converted into guest houses, children playhouses, car garages, home offices, workshops, garden sheds and more.
The interior features a big timber look, ranging from 9’x11′ to 12’x20′, with a post & beam frame, 2 Six-light windows and a 5′ or 6′ wide double door kit with oak. There’s also a practical loft space for storing tools, extra lawn furniture, etc. Custom options are also available, like Dutch doors, bow top windows, oak latches and hand-forged hinges.
Decorating options are endless, from dressing up windows with colorful flower boxes to adorning the double door entrance with a beacon gilded post lamp and embellishing the roof with dove cote cupolas and copper weathervanes.
