CubeSensors: Control Your Environment

indoor-living-cubesensors

Have you ever heard that Bill Gates installed sensors in his home that will adjust a room’s environment when someone walks in – registering his or her body temperature, stress level, or age… This might be mythical, or Gates’s computer-controlled home even more impressive, but either way, few of us can share this experience, considering that we’re not all electronics billionaires.

But there is a tiny white cube that can report temperature, humidity, noise, light, air quality, and barometric pressure to it’s accompanying iPhone app—providing us everyday people with something close to the Gates House experience. Continue reading

kindle light verso 50x50 - Verso Arc Light for Kindle

Verso Arc Light for Kindle

kindle-light-verso

Reading lights always seemed to me to be uncomfortable clip-ons that obstructed my reading experience instead of illuminating it. It also seemed frustrating to flip on the lamp near my bed to read a book on my Kindle – a strange process of using older technology to light new technology. My 3rd generation Kindle Keyboard functions well, and I don’t see any reason to buy the newer backlit, Kindle Paperwhite. For those like me who are so reluctant to buy newer versions of functioning hardware, the Verso Arc Light from Lightwedge brings beautiful luminescence to the original Kindle. Continue reading

pocket-projector-c1204

It’s easy for me to get agitated if I accumulate too many gadgets, especially those that can be reduced from two or three different objects to one and still perform the same tasks. The C120 pocket projector from Acer is the nexus of all these technological wishes. Continue reading
