Designed by Portland-based architecture firm, Kaplan Thompson Architects, the Falmouth Flyer house is an excellent example of ‘modern design meets sustainability’.

Inspired by the nearby Maine Audubon – Maine’s leading wildlife conservation organization – this piece of architecture uses its unique structural form to convey movement and flight.

Located on a stunning waterfront property in Southern Maine with views of Mackworth Island, the north side of the house features corrugated steel claddings and few openings, acting as a dynamic privacy buffer while the south side opens wide to the water, inviting the light deep into all spaces.

Solar panels, reflective light shelves, and incredibly air-tight construction are just a few of the features that have helped this highly sustainable project receive LEED Gold certification.
