Created by San Diego based architect, Lloyd Russell, the Rimrock Ranch House is a contemporary California desert home, that is constructed out of recycled materials and uses passive ventilation techniques to keep the house cool during the hot summer months.
Passive ventilation is achieved through the use of movable walls and windows around the home that can open to allow cool winds to pass through, and a steel shade canopy, providing continuous shade for the house as well as for a large outdoor area that surrounds the main structure.
Inspired by the old West, the architect created a combination of a modern home and a rugged ranch house, blending perfectly with the beauty of the desert landscape.
It is good to know that this is made of recycled materials. that’s really innovative. the house really looks inviting too.
