The Copenhagen-based firm of Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter, designed this small, prefab studio box. It’s crafted from an insulated wooden frame and exterior wall cladding and I wouldn’t mind using it as my favorite reading space.
This small, lovely outbuilding features a tiny space of 10 sq. meters. Despite its small size it was designed as a working and sleeping unit. It includes a compact work area facing a large window overlooking the garden, a shelving unit for storing books and a bed, which is tucked in a side wall to be pulled open when needed. Above the bed there’s a skylight, providing unobstructed view of the sky, stars and the nearby cherry tree’s crown.
