Tapehook: tape a paper hook to your wall

How cool is this concept: hooks that look like pieces of sticky-tape that was turned into a hook and stuck to the wall. These hooks are really easy to install and are great for organizing small accessories, jewelry, keys, sunglasses and other odds and ends, in short – all my stuff that I always keep in cluttered heaps in boxes and drawers.

Just like sticky notes, once I started using them I couldn’t believe how I managed to organize my life before them. Any wall or surface can now be turned into a giant message board, the hooks come in a variety of colors so you can play around and hang them as you fancy and they look so cute even if nothing hangs from them.

The fun part of using them is that you can get really creative. Inspired by my fridge door, I decided to go for the look of a “large magnetic board”. I scattered the paper hooks on my wall, playing with the height and colors and in the spaces between the Tapehooks. I used colored tape to hang photos, postcards and other memorabilia and also added small knic-nacs. The result was very colorful and practical.

The hooks were designed by Japanese design studio Torafu. Inspired by sticky-tape, they are made of processed paper that is then soaked, curled and set to dry, this process also hardens them. The Tapehooks are available in different sets of colors and are quit resilient compared to their look.
