Hamecon

Oh, the possibilities in a seemingly simple device for hanging garments. Hamecon, which translates to fish hook, is a sweet and demure wooden device that quietly rests on your wall. Its charm will grab you and not let go! Micro Meuble designed the modern elegant hanger to provide multiple functions.

Withdrawn in to itself, it is a modern coat rack for your rain slicker or tomorrow’s attire. A wedge is sliced from a corner of the solid wooden block. The rectilinear wedge is held in place by a brightly colored wooden strip that runs the full length. When lifted, the wedge dangles from its home base via a hefty nautical rope. Now the wedge has been transformed in to a hanger.

When revealed, the upper surface is a secure shelf, with the colored wooden band keeping items in place. Keys, cell phone, sun glasses, and other must-not-forget items await you with no chance of sliding away.

I can see Hamecon in multiples in a closet or at my front door, where I am always challenged with enough space for the coats of my guests. They’re perfect for a child’s room where you can mount them at the perfect height. And if I’m going to spend time ironing, this will ensure the crispness of my freshly ironed blouse.
