The Ecopoltrona, Ecopouffe and Ecopanca – armchair, stool and bench – are a series of soft form casual seats in various sustainable coverings, including a washable cellulose fiber and recycled sails that can be popped in the washing machine when you like.
The forms themselves are like grown-up beanbags, using seams and sturdy coverings to give bone structure and a more modern look. The material finishes are the real appeal of the product though, as they match a conscious-pleasing source (whether the FSC paper version, the biofibre or the second-hand sails), with a lovely tactility and color pallet. The paper and sail versions in particular, which come in black, white and cappuccino have a look that is a hybrid between paper and fabric; they hold creases and crumples but are smooth to the touch and do not tear.
These are once again polymath designs, which could be used again and again in different situations. Poolside cafes, loft living spaces or even casual waiting rooms could benefit from their novel presence. What’s that – spilled wine? Dust marks? Sand and crumbs? Never fear, just put it on at 30°C.
