The daybed from Another Country is a very happy marriage between good looks and healthy production. Numerous green credentials back up the item, which stands alone in its gorgeousness. The daybed is a simple oak platform on a set of 4 slightly splayed peg legs, in natural or black, with traditional bolster cushions and a light futon mattress. The size is just that of a single bed, so even if you wouldn’t want to be snuggling up in it every night, it is perfect for temporary kippers.
The piping and six-button detail on Scottish wool-coir mix fabric upholstery adds just enough classic detail to this otherwise frill-free piece. There are six standard colors to choose from (teal anyone??) or bespoke fabrics are also feasible.
To touch on the Eco credentials (we just couldn’t resist) – the wood is FSC oak or chestnut (sadly non-FSC), the legs need no screws, the sponge is organic latex and coir, the fabric is a Scottish wool and the manufacturing is UK and Portuguese. Good as gold, in fact much more sustainable than gold!
We would put it in a city hallway to invite shoes off, or a light airy conservatory as an indoor sunbed, or of course as extra seating and bedding in the lounge for sociable times.
